A Unique Commissioned Stole
I am so very grateful that 2022 allowed for a lot of interesting commissions. And the calendar year ended with a unique one! The stole was a retirement gift for a gifted preach that I suspect will still find himself sharing the good Word. Embellished with items special to his ministry particularly with the last community he served this stole tells a great story. I share this post to show that unique items can find their way onto a stole. What would your story tell?
Unique details
The gift recipient has been shepherding people in Pittsburgh, PA for the past 13 years. It’s a city full of bridges like the one on the stole. This also symbolizes the ministry gift of bridge work in the areas of peace and justice.
But the bike you ask? Everyone needs a Sabbath practice in their own unique way. And being on a bike has been one way to experience that for this minister. I wish him many more happy trails!
Oh Canada!
In addition to loving Pittsburgh, this pastor adores his Canadian roots. So the gifting committee wanted to incorporate a little Canadian nod on this stole. Additionally reading and research has been a passion. Therefore sneaking a Canadian maple leaf onto a book spine seemed to work well!
