Our recent celebration of Valentine’s Day, of course, focused on love, but what if we expanded that definition to include gratitude for all the relationships that enrich our lives? In the next week, take a moment to connect through the power of words and express your appreciation to those who matter most.

  • Day 1: A Family Member
Write a note, email, or even send a quick text to a family member who has been a source of support or joy. Share a specific memory or quality about them that makes you feel grateful.

  • Day 2: A Friend
Reach out to a friend you haven’t talked to in a while or one who consistently shows up for you. Let them know what their friendship means to you.

  • Day 3: A Mentor or Teacher
Think of someone who has influenced your journey—professionally, spiritually, or personally. Take time to acknowledge their impact on your life and thank them for the lessons they’ve imparted.

  • Day 4: Someone in Your Community
Consider writing to someone who makes your everyday life better—your mail carrier, a barista, a neighbor, or a coworker. A simple “thank you for what you do” can brighten their day.

  • Day 5: Yourself
Write a letter to yourself, focusing on self-compassion and acknowledgment of your own growth, perseverance, or creativity.

Gratitude has a way of deepening our connections and shifting our perspective, and a simple letter can be a powerful way to share that appreciation. Whether you write one note or all five, let this practice be a reminder that kindness—expressed in words—can ripple out in unexpected ways. As you go through the week, notice how the act of writing shapes your heart as much as it blesses the recipient. And if you take on this challenge, I’d love to hear about your experience! 💌
