#806 Ordinary Time stole - Joy in the morning stole
This stole design was inspired by Psalm 30:5. One could take this Bible verse to literally mean joy will come the next morning, and sometimes it does. In a broader sense, the verse can mean that after a time of spiritual darkness, joy will be restored. A metaphor for ‘waiting for joy’ is how we wait for new flowers to emerge from the darkness of the ground. Thus when we saw the border fabric that is used in this stole we highlighted it with colors, shapes, and an additional appliqued flower.
For his anger lasts only a moment,
but his favor lasts a lifetime;
weeping may stay for the night,
but rejoicing comes in the morning.
